Substantial Growth

K-tech has grown from three employees and one vehicle to a multimillion-dollar corporation with 80 full-time employees and a fleet of 44 vehicles. Through strategic acquisitions, over two-thirds of Wisconsin is now serviced by our certified technicians.

How did we grow so extensively?

In March of 1996, K-tech’s second generation took the reins of leadership. At the time, we employed 40 people and sales reached a record level. Through this transitional period, our leadership team was aggressive in their risk taking in business financial endeavors. From 1997 to 2003, sales grew over 200%.

In November 2001, due to an increase in personnel, equipment and trucks, we moved to a new 24,000 sq. ft. facility in the Weston Business Park.

We also implemented a growth strategy to incorporate satellite locations throughout Wisconsin. For many years, we serviced North Central Wisconsin, which included Stevens Point, Wausau, Rhinelander and surrounding areas. In 2002, K-tech made its first acquisition, Nu-Life Professional Cleaners, located in Fond du Lac. In 2003, K-tech acquired two additional businesses located in Eastern Wisconsin: Neat n’ Clean of Fond du Lac and Armstrong Professional Cleaners of Sturgeon Bay. We completed our investment strategy by acquiring The Cleaning People of Appleton, a commercial janitorial company, in 2004. These companies not only increased the size of K-tech’s assets but also increased the size of K-tech’s service area, allowing usto provide services for thousands of businesses and families throughout Wisconsin. K-tech also expanded the Nu-Life Professional Cleaning facility to integrate the employees of all three acquired companies. This addition almost tripled the capacity size to 10,000 square feet.

Over the years, K-tech has sustained recessions and faced new competition in the area. Yet the company continues to increase sales and profits, increase its market share and expand overall service offerings.

To ensure on-going growth and stability, a succession plan is fully documented and in place for future generations to lead the charge.
