What is asbestos?

Asbestos is a family of naturally occurring materials which were often used because of their ability to resist heat and chemicals.

When is asbestos dangerous?

When asbestos is inhaled or ingested that’s when it is the most dangerous. Once the asbestos fibers are trapped within the body, they can pose health problems. Asbestos poses the greatest risk when it becomes friable, which means it is easily crumbled by the hand.
