Be Green with K-tech
As our management team looked
at our company's future as a cleaning provider, they acknowledged the growing
need for better indoor environments. In 2006, we implemented
a green cleaning program.
The “Be Green” program is designed
to help customers reduce the use of harmful products, save energy and
to create a more sustainable environment. We now use eco-friendly
cleaning products, equipment that requires less water and new trucks
that operate on soy-based diesel fuel.
The ‘Be Green’ message
is also infused into all of our marketing materials, including television
ads, promotional giveaways and consumer literature. We have also been recognized by state
and industry organizations for our eco-friendly activity.
Moving forward, K-tech will plan, train and invest with
our earth-friendly strategy in place. At the same time, we
will remain on the cutting edge of technology. This will provide the
stability necessary to survive in an
ever-growing competitive market, yet allow us to conserve resources for
future generations to enjoy.
Our Pledge to "Be Green"
As a family-focused company, we are taking a leadership
role to preserve our environment and energy resources. We are also encouraging
customers and friends throughout the community to become involved. In
addition to the environmentally-friendly cleaning products and techniques
we already use, we are giving away CFL spiral light bulbs. The bulbs are given to customers during on-site
visits, and as promotional giveaways at local and national events.
Did you know? If every U.S. household replaced their 5 most frequently used
light fixtures or the bulbs in them with ENERGY STAR qualified options,
not only would each save about $60 a year in energy costs, but we’d
also prevent greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to the emissions from
8 million cars.
In addition to giving customers a CFL light bulb, we also
share energy-saving tips and techniques with friends and family. This is
part of ENERGY STAR’s ‘Change a Light, Change the World’ national
campaign.
It only takes 18 seconds to change a bulb.
Additional 'Green' Consumer Tips
There are so many - and easy ways where we can implement eco-friendly practices into our homes.
Here are a few examples:
- Buy cars with good fuel mileage; do not speed.
- Unplug unused appliances in your home. (Even in small amounts, they still drawing energy when not in use.)
- Install a programmable thermostat; 1-2 degrees lower will help.
- Reuse what you can (eg. use the same bag(s) when you shop.)
