K-tech Hosts IICRC Restoration Classes
Weston, WI – The K-tech Corporate Office in Weston hosted IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) Water Restoration and Fire & Smoke Restoration Classes from February 21-February 24, 2006. The event drew close to fifty participants from throughout the Midwest, including seven K-tech associates representing five of their Wisconsin offices. When approached to host this event, K-tech President Craig Kersemeier was pleased to accept. Kersemeier realizes the importance of providing an avenue for technicians to obtain IICRC certifications. To date, K-tech has invested over $150,000 in certifying and training their associates.
The Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician (SRT) course concentrated on technical procedures for successfully completing the restoration of a fire and smoke damaged environment. Students will learn how to combine technical procedures with a practical approach to managing the job site and how that relates to pricing the job. They also learned advanced cleaning techniques such as dry-ice blasting and ultrasonic cleaning.
The Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) course is designed to teach non-restoration personnel that perform remediation work to give them a better concept of water damage, its effects and techniques for drying of structures. This course will give residential and commercial maintenance personnel the background to understand the procedures necessary to deal with water losses, sewer backflows, and contamination such as mold.
The IICRC is a nonprofit certifying body for the inspection, cleaning and restoration industry. The institution currently represents over 3,320 certified firms and 35,000 certified technicians in over thirty-three countries. The IICRC, with participation from the entire industry, sets standards for inspection, cleaning and restoration.
K-tech is an internationally recognized and award-winning company specializing in cleaning and restoration services. They serve most of the state of Wisconsin, with offices in Weston, Stevens Point, Rhinelander, Fond du Lac, Appleton, and Sturgeon Bay.
